As I said before, this last week we had a break from classes due to the National Holiday.
I have stayed the week with two different families from church because I really didn't want to be in my apartment.
This weekend I am staying with a family at the apartment where church is actually held.
There are 53 members of the branch here in Chengdu. It is a much larger branch than I thought. Four of the families from the branch work and live at the consulate. A few families work for gas companies, two couples work with the BYU China Teachers program, and other families are here for random odd jobs.
Due to the size of Chinese families, apartments here tend to be very small, meaning most apartments would never be able to accommodate our branch.
Luckily, the Branch President's home is very large as it is two apartments that have been converted to one. Everyone can fit in the living room and dining room for Sacrament Meeting, and then we use all of the bedrooms for all of the other meetings.
I love their apartment because it looks very western. The set up of the kitchen is very familiar, and I do like the general lack of Asian decor.
