Random Things Part II

When I came to China, this is all I had.
Some how, I managed to fit my entire life into four bags.
Getting everything to fit back into these same bags should be simple enough when it comes time to leave, however, I'm still nervous...
We had a parent-teacher night a few weeks ago, and there were actually refreshments at the end. What you see below are "sweets." They were actually more like tasteless pieces of sponge that choked you as you swallow.
This is a sign in the gardens right by my apartment. Usually, the English translations on signs here make absolutely no sense. Surprisingly, this one does.
This is Benny. Or at least, it's what I call him. He belongs to the guards that are at the entrance of my housing complex. He greets me every morning and evening going to and coming from school.
I have stated before that my mattress is as hard (if not harder) than a rock. Luckily, I was given this wonderful mattress pad to borrow for as long as I am here. It has made sleeping a little more bearable.
I laugh every time I pass by this building. It is hard to read, but the sign says "International Intangible Cultural Heritage Park." I'm not sure if that is an accurate translation, and I'm still not sure it even makes sense...
I have been told that here, the people like to give things really long names so that they sound more prestigious. That may have been their goal with this sign, but all it make me do is laugh.
Sometimes as I walk down the hallway at school I notice new artwork on the walls. Some of it is a little creepy.
As I was walking through the mall, I saw this store. I had to take a photo because it immediately reminded me of my friend Amy Soto.
"TheAmy" isn't the most creative name for a store, but I guess it works. I have also seen a store called "I Am David." I think what shoppers here care most about is not the name of the store, but the fact that the name is in English.

And finally, below are two more cafeteria meals that I failed to add to my "Chinese Cafeteria Cuisine" post a few days ago.
